The secret to a successful reuse program? Making sure we get a high return rate at our venues, events, and festivals, so that we can reuse again and again and again.
Thanks to our amazing partners and community of reusers, we consistently reuse over 94% of our cups and foodware…with many r.World clients recapturing 99% after every event!
So, what happens after you do your part? We collect our cups and containers, bring them back to our wash facilities, where we sort, sanitize, dry, inspect, pack and then redistribute them for reuse.
And here’s something you might not know, but is super important. It’s critical to follow FDA regulations for appropriate washing, sanitization, and drying of reusables. r.World partners with Ecolab, the world leader in sanitization, to ensure that all reusables are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized—and that it’s done in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

Why reuse? Because our planet is drowning in trash.
Recycling doesn’t work.
Plastic is barely recycled at all. And aluminum is a massive (and toxic) drain on our scarce resources—both to create it and to recycle it.
Composting doesn’t either.
Most compostable cups never actually get composted — and they don’t break down in landfills.
